Data Mining is ...? |
Data mining, or Knowledge Discovery, is an iterative and interactive process of digging through and analyzing enormous sets of data and then extracting the meaning of the data. Data mining diagnoses the current behaviors through patterns hidden in data and predicts future trends through predictive information from data.
Data Mining allows businesses to make proactive, knowledge-driven decisions, answering business questions that traditionally were too time consuming to resolve or that experts may miss because it lies outside their expectations. |
